Indigenous Education
We would like to acknowledge that we are on the Homelands of the Ktunaxa People.
Honouring Indigenous voices, cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing through meaningful learning, belonging, and connection.
The Ministry of Education and Child Care is responsible for Indigenous Education in the BC public school system from kindergarten to grade 12. Indigenous Education seeks to improve success and supports for Indigenous students, and increase the presence of Indigenous culture, languages and history for all students. It also aims to help teachers bring Indigenous knowledge into their teaching practice.
The District is committed to the education of our students of Indigenous ancestry.
